Frequently Asked Questions
Our clients come from a wide variety of backgrounds and encompass both casual home users and more advanced business environments. Because of this the range of problems we deal with and the questions we are asked vary just as much. Despite this, I have done my best to include some of the more commonly asked questions here on this F.A.Q. page for easy access. Chances are you have many questions which are not covered here, but feel free to contact me for more information or to inquire about how any of my various computer services can benefit you or your business.
1. When should I expect my new Web site to start showing up in search results?
I will submit your site to the major search engines as soon as it is ready. Generally speaking, this will be as soon as it goes live. Once submitted to the major search engines (Google, Yahoo!, & MSN) it will be indexed sometime in the next 6 weeks. Although it depends on where the search engines are at in their rounds when the site is submitted, if there are any other sites linking to you the indexing will usually occur much faster and often new sites will actually appear in search results in as little as a week or two.
2. How much will it cost to have a web site built?
The best answer here, and really the only honest one, is..."it depends."
Depending on such factors as: the complexity of the design, the amount of planning that needs to be done, needed artwork, and other factors, the price could literally range anywhere from less than $100 to upwards of several thousand dollars. Generally, I can save you around 50% as compared to other web design companies.
3. I have a drawing of what I would like, is that useful / helpful?
Absolutely! In fact, some sort of drawing is almost always where I suggest starting. No matter if we are talking about designing a web site, a logo, or other graphic art design, a drawing is a very good starting point.
